Conclusions and Recommendations
What conclusions can we draw from analysis of the future of journalism? Will we use citizen media more? Or civic media will be more popular? Will traditional media disappear? To my mind the most important question when we speak about the future of journalism is objectivity. It does not matter what kind of format media will be but core values (independent, free and adversary media, transparency, accountability, variety of sources, ethical standards) will matter. And if this all will be taken into consideration, optimistic development scenario will take place both globally and in Latvia. What should we do to safeguard ethical standards? The work-load of journalist job should be changed to achieve goals of core values. The quality matters and it can suffer if lack of training and general pessimism for the future will take place.51
