“Walden” is a long poetic essay that was written by an American author who was naturalist, philosopher, transcendentalist, and development critic. The book was published in 1854.
In order to write this story Henry David Thoreau left society for two years and lived alone in woods around Walden Pond without any accommodations. The main reason of leaving society was that the author wanted to see if he could live independently. As a result, he lived in woods for two years, two months, and two days, studied ecology and wrote the story “Walden”. No doubt, Henry David Thoreau is an inspirational writer.
The main character of the story is the other himself. He is one of the only human characters of the story because he writes about his personal experience. The author indicates about the beauty of nature: “Sympathy with the fluttering alder and poplar leaves almost takes away my breath; yet, like the lake, my serenity is rippled but not ruffled. …
