Julius Caesar separated and distinguished himself from all the preceding leaders of Rome and while doing so he changed the course of history and the way things were done in the Roman Empire. Julius Caesar was unlike the leaders before him many ways and had different hopes and aspirations for Rome. He was a people's emperor and either loved or hated by all those who knew him.
