The Republican Revolution in China broke out on October 10, 1911, at Wuchang, the Capital of Hubei Province. The leader of this revolution is Sun Yat-sen, a republican and anti-Qing activist. By the end of November 1911, 15 of the 24 Chinese Provinces declared their independence from the Qing Empire. In December, the delegations of Provincial Delegates from central and northern China declared China a Republic. On January 1, 1912, Sun Yat-sen was elected the President of the Republic of China. However, in Beijing, another leader, Yuan Shikai, grasped power and demanded the Republic of China to be united under the Beijing government ran by Yuan Shikai.…
