Future research should consider the reasons why students drink, why they stop, their intentions and attitudes towards drinking, where and whom they drink with and what they expect to get out of drinking.
Expectancies improved the TPB's predictions, so expectancies must have a larger influence than previously thought, for example, high expectancies and a positive attitude (or low expectancies and a negative attitude) lead to an intention to carry out (or avoid) a certain behaviour.
Research has shown (TPB's) attitudes and intentions is an excellent model to determine behaviour but the expectancies that one perceives, make the (TPB) model a much better predictor of behaviour, being the case, future research should seriously consider combining the two theories permanently, have an outstanding model for behavioural prediction.
