Then, the legitimising strategies are used, that tell that an individual has to think and do the same as others do, e.g., what he is, thousands and hundreds of thousands are saying and thinking.
Denial strategies are achieved with disclaimers that permit speakers to express racist ideas whilst avoiding charges blatant racism. E.g. it’s not racist to talk about immigration, etc.
On the macro-level in CDA discourse is perceived to be in a dialectical relationship with social structure in which discourse is both constituted by and constitutive of social structure.
Fairclough proposes three-tiered method of discourse analysis, which includes description of the language text, interpretation of the relationship between the (productive and interpretative) discursive processes and the text, and explanation of the relationship between the discursive processes and the social processes.
