Ventspils Seaside Open-Air Museum

The development of the exhibition of the Ventspils Maritime Open-Air Museum started in 1959.
On the four hectares large territory the traditions of the fishery in Kurzeme are revealed through fascinating displays: exhibited are fishing boats dating from the 18th century and onwards, the fishermen's dwellings once ventini and livi (ethnic groups residing in this region of Latvia) used to live in, fish-drying huts, fish-smoking huts, net huts and other monuments of the folk architecture. …
