This book is quite old, it has more than 20 years, but still it is in good condition. It is a detective story, but the thing is that this is also spy thriller and there is a little bit from horror story. Book is not so long, it has only 175 pages. It took me to read almost 1 month reading it day by day. There could be at least 10000 words, but it is only a guess. I could not find any pictures or illustrations, so there will not be pleasure for picture lovers. I believe that the subject of this book is about hired person, who was involved into very dangerous case, where he had to deal with international terrorist organization, called “Liberty”. Person who hired Mr. Spenser was Mr. Dixon, whose whole family suffered from attacks in London and they died at the same scene some time ago. Mr. Dixon wanted Mr. Spenser to revenge his family, that’s way Spenser started his investigation. Mr. Spenser was fully assured with all he needed. I can call it as mystery adventure all around world.
Spenser, the world's most self satisfied private investigator. Author has also introduced an unforgettable cast of supporting characters such as: the dangerous, mysterious Hawk; the beautiful, omnipresent Susan, the occasionally interesting Paul, and unsociable Katherine. But Spenser is the focus of the book, and, as author has commented, he will continue to write his novels of the Boston-based Spenser as long as people want to read them.
Little bit about characters: The first and most important character is Mr. Spenser. He is a middle aged man, married to Susan, he has got no children. From the book I can say that he is very patient, very intelligent, smart about guns and very careful. He has always got a plan, which is not dependent from any situation. His movements and behaviour are very balanced and unknown. Every time he does something, it is being done as he had known everything before. It gives proof that Mr. Spenser is very experienced. He is good shooter. And he has got very good sense of humor, when I was reading book, I laughed a lot, humor fits in this book. He is white skinned.
