The rewards however are worth the effort as shown by companies such as Monsanto, Hallmark, and Liberty Mutual. Monsanto, in a 4 year period was able to increase overall quality and productivity by 47 percent, Hallmark reduced their design time by 200 percent, and Liberty Mutual saw a savings of over $50 million per year 1. These are just a few examples of how effective self-managed teams can be.
