Conflict is ‘a process that begins when an individual or group perceives differences and opposition between itself and another individual or group about interests and resources, beliefs, values, or practices that matter to them’ (DiGirolamo, n.d.). There are many types of conflicts that can arise in organizations, the basic three being economic, value and power conflicts. As conflicts are inevitable, organizations should focus on conflict management.
The goal of this paper is to study interpersonal communication in organizations and determine the main causes as well as strategies for resolving conflicts in organizations.
The enabling objectives to achieve the goal are:
to analyze theories on interpersonal communication and conflicts in organizations
to apply these theories for the purpose of the paper;
to summarize findings and draw relevant conclusions.…
