National Curriculum

The first National Curriculum was introduced between 1988 and 1992. It applies to pupils of compulsory school age in community and foundation schools, including special schools and voluntary aided and voluntary controlled schools. The first National Curriculum was criticized as overloaded and too prescriptive. A review was carried out in 1994 and new curriculum documents were produced following his report. Now this curriculum has been revised again.
