5.0 Conclusion.
China is a land of guanxi, but it is not totally mysterious. It could arouse interest of westerners, because it is different from the social network in western countries. From the characteristics of guanxi mentioned above, guanxi is transferable, personal, reciprocal, intangible and long-term oriented. Some of the characteristics of guanxi contradict western social network. If a western firm wants to succeed in China, it should understand guanxi as a culture not as an ethic or some principle must be followed. One point should be kept in mind, guanxi could help western firms to succeed in China market but it cannot guarantee any firms to be successful.
