Since the death of the Soviet Union ruler Josef Stalin fifty already years have passed, but discussions about his personality are still very pressing. If in the West Stalin is seen as a tyrant, then he is still seen as a hero among Russians. In a recent survey, Russians were asked, how they felt about Stalin’s reign and approximately 70% said that he did more good than bad, or didn’t have opinions about his reign (Shepherd 16). Some say he killed, deported, arrested, tortured millions of people and he was a terrible tyrant. The other side says that he was a great leader who led the Soviet Union to victory in World War 2, gave food, work, and shelter to everyone, equalized society and everyone felt happy. From their point of view Stalin was the best dictator Russia has ever had and some people go so far that they even want to clone him to bring order in Russia again. Who has the truth? The next entire paragraphs explain why Josef Stalin was a horrible tyrant who made millions of people suffer.…
