Another important date for the Latvians is the 11th of November. On that day people celebrate Lāčplēša Day. When we mention the name of Lāčplēsis we always think of strength, courage, heroism. Now on this day we remember those people who died for the freedom of Latvia.
Christmas is Jesus birthday. Christmas comes in winter on the 25th and 26th of December. It is the time when families get together. Some weeks before Christmas people begin to think about presents for their family members and friends. On Christmas many people go to Church, sing Christmas carols, and give presents to each other. Especially children love this holiday and wait for Santa Claus.
