I will tell you abaut.. What is Jāņi?
In Latvia, Midsummer is called Jāņi (Jānis being Latvian for John) or Līgo Svētki (Svētki = festival). It is a national holiday celebrated on a large scale by almost everyone in Latvia and by people of Latvian origin abroad.

First you must knew... When celebrate them?
This Latvian festival is held in the night from 23 June to 24 June to celebrate the summer solstice (Midsummer), the shortest night and longest day of the year. The day of Līgo (23 June) and the day of Jāņi (24 June) are public holidays, and people usually spend them in the countryside.
That’s all to say about date…

Now let’s move on...Of honor of who we celebrate them?
