Starting from 1891, Pavlova studied at the Imperial School of Ballet at the Marinsky Theatre and graduated after 8 years. Pavlova’s family was poor; therefore, the fact that she was accepted into the prestigious School of Ballet was based purely on luck and her talent because the entry was by examination. In 1906 she became a prima ballerina.
