The Case
School founded in 1995;
Rapid decrease of learners in 2010 due to recession;
3 classes with 8 learners (2 in grade 3, 3 in grade 5, 3 in grade 6);
1 learner from grade 5 misbehaves during the classes disturbing the whole learning process.

Strengths
special attitude towards children;
enough time for every child (individual approach);
the school is located in the centre of the town;
lovely premises (pleasant, friendly, homely, quiet environment);
supportive parents who are interested in problem solving;
the misbehaving child is not being discriminated and mocked.

Weaknesses:
not enough experienced professionals;
misbehaving child influences others’ work;
other learners, their parents and teachers become dissatisfied;
high tuition fee;
children do not have many possibilities to socialize.

Opportunities
school can develop and specialize in teaching learners with special needs;
attract more children with special needs;
improve financial situation;
attract extra funding from either government or different European funds;
expand when the number of learners grows;
actively cooperate with other schools in Latvia and abroad;
improve reputation;
become one of the best schools in the region.…
