Robert Grave has written impressive, thrilling and very interesting story – “The Shout” which contains different characters, emotive events and big mystery. It’s very interesting that the author has written the story in the story – it is clear at the beginning when a person called Crossley narrates another story. On my opinion we cannot clearly find the line that separates true reality from the world of imaginations, and I strongly believe that this makes “The Shout” so breathtaking. I would like to make some remarks concerning that story.
Firstly, for my point of view the author describes all characters quite interesting and he definitely warms up all readers. There are only three main characters - Rachel, her husband Richard and one mysterious person – Charles. For example, when I read this description: “ Rachel was graceful, small, with eyes unusually blue for the blackness of her hair, delicate in her movements, and with a voice rather low – pitched; she had freakish sense of humor,” I can easily imagine this person like a real human being and in this wise the story seems more and more intriguing.
Secondly, “The Shout” fetches reader with mystery that we can find at every turn.…
