I am standing at the window and I see a forest – it is so old and experienced – it has been living longer than every one of us. And suddenly I start thinking about people who have died for the freedom of Latvia. I am proud for them. Latvia – a country that was oppressed by a lot of different countries. Latvians – the nation that had depended on other countries, nations for a long time. Latvia is a new country. It was founded on November 18, in 1918. This day was important in that time, but today many of us understate what is life under some other country, they perceive our freedom like something self – evident. But it is not!
Latvia is situated in the North of Europe. Lats is the official currency of Latvia; it is one of the most valuable currencies in the world. 45% of the area is covered with forests, where we can gather mushrooms, pick berries, listen birds and where we can go for a walk in fresh air. …
