Iron is grounded into fine filings and then added to sulfur to make a basic gunpowder. Iron filings are also used to make clouds rain. They are shot up in a missile with copper and other different elements to make clouds rain in drought zones. These missiles are still experimental though. Iron is one of three of the only elements to have magnetic properties, iron cobalt and nickel. Out of these three, iron has the most stable nuclei and is therefore the most common ingredient in magnets. The Titanic, Carpathia, Britannica, were all made out of iron and so are ships today. Iron is not without its drawbacks however, when exposed with moist air or when it is at high temperatures is rapidly rusts and corrodes.
