Nowadays more and more communities are becoming aware of noise produced by traffic as an environmental problem. That is the reason why soundproof walls and other sound reflecting or deadening elements are being used along new and existing roads and highways.
In some Western Europe countries noise limits in living areas are set very low which means that road constructors can not avoid installation of some kind of noise reducing elements.
There are several methods to reduce noise, for example, the cheapest, but unfortunately least effective is to plant trees between the road and the living area. It is the least effective because trees need a lot of time before they reach the size in which they are able to absorve the noise effectively enough.…
