I chose this passage because it left a very remarkable effect on me. This was not the only place where I saw a phrase about a person being without a hat, this information is always stressed and probably has some hidden message. I suppose that being without a hat symbolises belonging to ‘’the other world’’. In this particular passage Quint was seen without a hat. The second sentence is about Quint not being a gentleman – all the other characteristic features but definitely not a gentleman. It is not something special but I was impressed by the way the author plays with words and presents the idea.
I think that this passage also impressed me by the choice of words and the detailed characteristics of Quint’s outer expression. In my opinion this passage is the only that brings about so detailed and impressive information about the mysterious ghost. …
