Questions after Watching "1984"

9. What happens to Winston at the end of the movie? What about Julia and O’Brien?
At the end of the movie, O'Brien tortures Winston with a hungry mouse cage put to his face. He offers Julia in his place. It was never shown if he died at the end or not. Julia was shown in the same room 101. Before the torture chamber O’Brien convinces Winston that he is a part of the revolutionary group called “Brotherhood”. Later on, he admits that he pretended to be in that group so he could trap Winston.

10. Which examples of political issues showed in the movie/book can you find in the world today?
In 1984 television screens watch you and control you. Today it's social media that collects every comment, post, purchase we make online. It can predict our every preference. It also shows that fear can end up making us to take actions we do not think trough.
