Latvia

Latvia lies on the Baltic Sea. Its territory is 64,000 square kilometres.
Our mainland neighbours are Estonia, Russia, Belarus and Lithuania. The population is a little over 2,6 million. The longes distance from east to west is 450 km and from north to south 210 km.
The highest pean in Latvia is Gaizinkalns which is 312 metres above sea level. There are over 12,000 rivers in Latvia. The richest in water is the Daugava. The longest and the most beautiful river is the Gauja – 452 km. There are more than 3,000 lakes in Latvia. The deepest lake is Lake Dridzis which is 65 metres deep.…
