Eurasian brown bear is popular bear in world, and the only specie in Latvia. There are only few bears in Latvia, that’s why they need protection. Actually, they are being endangered and protected in whole Europe.
They are physically the smallest specie of brown bears.
Eurasian brown bear lives in woods, near watering holes. They need some place to hide at day. They usually go hunting at morning or evening. If the days are really hot, they go swimming at rivers or lakes.
Half of the year Eurasian brown bear spends in the winter sleep. They make their “bed” in braked-down tree holes and other natural hollows. Bear can use the same “bed” for many years.…
