I throughly enjoyed J. D. Salinger’s novel ”The catcher in the rye”, which took him ten years to write and bacame a bestseller later. Inspite of the time when the story is happening, it has not lost its actuality nowdays.

A plot centers on Holden Caufield, a seventeen –year old teenager, living in 1950’s, who is suffered from many schools and Pencey PREP is not an exception.. There are lots of phonies around him and that is what he does not like. He tries not to be phoney himself and he mostly succeeds. Holden holds close to his little sister Phoebe, whom he wants to protect from adult world and losing innocence. His journey into searching for an identity helps him to finally grow and change an attitude to some of the growing pains and sense of learning.…
