Endotherms:
Are animals that can maintain a constant body temperature. Body temp's are controlled by largely metabolic processes and by adaptive mechanisms that control the rate of heat exchange with the environment, such as panting, sweating and insulation. Both production of heat and cooling require large amounts of metabolic energy. Most mammals and birds are endotherms.
