Introduction

Knowledge is the biggest wealth a human being has ever earned. Nobody can take away your knowledge or use it without your wish. Having knowledge of something what need others is the main key to success in business, in career, in personal life or whatever else.
Today we have great opportunities of learning using latest achievements of mankind such as Internet, Google etc. But knowledge is something more than just gathering information; it’s worth nothing without understanding: “Knowledge acquisition involves complex cognitive processes: perception, learning, communication, association and reasoning. The term knowledge is also used to mean the confident understanding of a subject with the ability to use it for a specific purpose if appropriate.”1 .
Looking at the knowledge from the prospective of a multinational organization, sharing of somebody’s tacit knowledge becomes extremely important on international level due to geographical distance. Capturing knowledge is significant for a company because of possibility to prevent in future failures made in previous work. The danger of losing knowledge is important and can lead to wasting a lot of time and resources. This fact is illustrated in the Harvard Business School case study on NASA and JPL failures caused by retiring experienced personnel and managing projects by humans who were not enough competent to perform their work.
We should take into consideration also the fact that an experienced person may not wish share his/her knowledge or a person who supposed to be trained may not wish learn. Here is important motivation to teach and to study.
The topic includes a lot of aspects that could be discussed, but we will focus on the failures that can occur due to the lack of knowledge and opportunities how to prevent it in the scope of multinational organization. Therefore in the first part of the report there will be discussed some cases of expensive mistakes, next these mistakes will be analyzed, in the second part there will be outlined key problems and provided suggestions for solution of these problems.
