First of all we will start our report from the question: “Why our group took for the report just the movie “Bend it like Beckham”?”. Some members of our group became inspired with the name of Beckham. This part of students thought that the movie will be just about Beckham. Of course we could see the picture of this famous football player on the wall of our main hero’s room, but he wasn’t the main hero. The other part of our group have seen this movie before and said that it is wonderful, very easy to watch and if you watch it you won’t be sorry about that and you won’t be disappointed. So in spite of Beckham wasn’t the main hero our first part of group was satisfied after watching this movie.
The movie “Bend it like Beckham” includes two brightly expressed culture which from the one side are totally different and contradict to each other, but from the other side have something common if we look and learn them deeply. These two opposite cultures are “English culture” and “Indian culture”.
The principal events are in England in London. The Indian family is living in London and if we look on all the relatives (on their huge amount) we can decide that this family is living in England for a long time. And other events and heroes are turning around them. Teenager Jess (the main hero) is football mad and she doesn't want to end up as a boring solicitor. She wants to play football like her hero, David Beckham. But being a girl, her chances are limited to having a kick about in the local park and, being an Asian girl, her family doesn't even agree with her doing that. Her Indian parents want her to find a nice Indian boy and settle down, like her sister Pinky who is about to be married.…
