1 slaids: Air pollution is very topical theme nowadays. Aviation transport is causing greenhouse effect and noise pollution.
2 slaids: It is assumed that aviation industry contributes lots of dangerous chemicals in the air. However, compared to other industries, these dangerous chemicals are only 3.5% of the world scale. Unlike car industry that has much new technological advancement to limit their emissions, it is still difficult to find such technologies in the aviation industry. For instance, it has been taking years for the industry to come up with Bio-solar jet fuel, however, the implementation of this technology is still minimum, costs are the biggest concern in this matter.
3 slaids: The graph below shows the increasing air pollution in the UK
4 slaids: The reason why airports should be located far from the residential areas is to minimise the noise problems. However, there are still many airports located close to residential areas. Noise pollution comes during taking off and landing. The continuous noise pollution from airports could lead to the residents’ hearing problems, sleep disturbance and decreased performance. As the number passenger goes up, so does the noise pollution, too.
