Ventspils, located in the north-west of Latvia some 189 kilometers from Riga, is an up-to-date, modern European city with a wide range of available entertainment facilities. This city of 44,000 inhabitants is at mouth of the Venta River that flows into the Baltic Sea. Its ice-free, world-class port is one of the major transit hubs between East and West.
Ventspils also is proud of the cleanest streets and smoothest driving surfaces in the country. It is known as the brightest city in Latvia, with not a single unlighted street or square at dark. During the summer months, attractive water fountains and flower arrangements abound in the city to please local people and visitors.

Were to eat
The classic restaurant- bar "Vilnis" in Pārventa offers special menus for vegetarians and children. There you can have a lobster, a dish of shrimps or caviar– all included in the truly extensive menu.
Just at the very bank of the River Venta the cosy restaurant Ūpis is located, where visitors may play some bowling on the ground floor, and dance at week-ends.
The special interior design of the restaurant “Dzintarjūra” reveals the closeness of the sea.
The café T33, which is located in Pārventa, is an appropriate place for refreshment together with friends.…
