The first 10 amendments to the constitution went into effect on December 15, 1791. That is two hundred and twelve years ago that we started to become the nation we are today. We have come a long way from the beginning. I am proud to be an American that serves in the United States military. Many men have fought in the past and now in the present for our nations freedom. I only hope that all Americans keep in mind that it didn't start out this way. Everyone should enjoy all the freedoms we have because who knows how much longer it will last with all the simple changes that the government has done here and there. My only hopes are that this nation gets better with time so our children may enjoy the same freedoms and choices we have today. Who know maybe things might change for the better.…
