The Company of Wolves

Scene 1: The camera is slowly trucking the panorama of a winter day in the country (meadows, forest, hills covered by snow); sound of steps in the snow is heard in the background. The camera trucks and catches a girl about fourteen wrapped in an old, grey fur coat with red, knitted cap on her head. The camera follows her picking up firewood from an old barn and wading back to an old-fashioned country house made of logs. The background: a distant howl of a wolf, the sound of steps. The girl stamps her feet at the door, presses the wood to her chin and opens the door with her free hand. The door is creaking, the girl goes in; the door shuts.
