DISCUSSION:
From these three experiments you can clearly see what kinds of habitat features the sugar ants prefer.
In the first experiment it was clearly shown that ants prefer sugar to diluted honey. It was clearly seen that sugar has the same effect on ants as it does on humans. Ants also especially like sugar because it has necessary nutrients in it. In their world sugar is considered a delicacy, which has a direct relation to humans. Lollies are a delicacy for humans; they are coated in sugar so therefore the ants like lollies. The first experiment also shows that only the workers eat and then they pass the food found onto the bull ants. The strange thing is that although honey has sugar in it they went for the straight sugar. Honey even has more nutrients in it then sugar so it is quite strange for the ants to choose sugar to honey.
