Conclusion
Initially, only hydrogen and helium formed in our universe. They are the major building blocks in the creation of stars. These two elements account for the majority of our universes elemental composition. From this matter, molecular clouds were formed. These molecular clouds became interstellar nurseries and gave birth to fusion generating protostars and non-fusion brown dwarfs. The successful protostars came in a variety of masses and sizes. The mass of a star depended on many different factors - how much gas were in the cloud where the star was born, the temperature of the gas, the density of the gas, magnetic fields, and how much rotation there was of the cloud. The successful protostars went on to become main sequence stars. Not all interstellar clouds become stars on the main sequence; for those that do, this is their story and how they are born. By understanding the mechanics of star formation it allows us to have a better understanding of the age and cycle of our universe.
