At certain situations, the human body produces a molecule called endogenous cannabinoids to regulate many processes in the body. This molecule is very similar to the active ingredient in marijuana, tetrahydocannabinol. Because the body does not always produce endogenous cannabinoids and the feeling of these molecules are pleasing, some people look to get the same feeling through marijuana.
Although addiction to marijuana is rare, a child experimenting with marijuana may experience a feeling that he would want to feel again, causing a slight obsession rather than a serious addiction.
