"Othello" Movie Critique

This Castle Rock production of Othello came out in 1995 and was directed by Oliver Parker. The movie is about two hours long and stars an excellent cast. The movie stars Laurence Fishburne as Othello, Irene Jacob as Desdemona. Also, Kenneth Branagh as Iago, who is known for his roles in other Shakespeare plays. Othello is about the Moor of Venice, who falls in love with a woman by the name of Desdemona and they get married. Everything seems to be going great for the couple until the seeds of doubts are planted in Othello's mind by Iago, the movie takes you on a heated ride filled with jealously, dark humor and death.
In any movie version of a Shakespeare play, the most important thing to do is to keep the plot and the language the same, but simple and provide many visuals. This is done well in this version of Othello. …
