Are you punctual? I discovered that Norwegians and Britons like people who arrive at the time that has been arranged. I cannot say it about Greeks. It was interesting to find out that Norwegians like to clink glasses before they have a meal. I discovered that they don’t like people who smoke like a chimney. It is an expression which means that you smoke many cigarettes.
What is about gift giving? It is a very popular custom. I am sure that it is important to learn about the etiquette of it before you are going to send or take a gift to a person. For example, Turks are very generous. Don’t admire all the things they have. It would not be polite, because it means that they must give you all of them. I discovered that the receiver opens a gift in front of the giver. It doesn’t mean that the content is more important than the act of giving.
To sum up, I would like to advise you to find some information about the country you are visiting and learn some words or phrases in their language. It will be seen as a compliment.
Everything that has been said, illustrates that we are like the actors in a play and our culture is like the script we follow. We should decide which roles we are going to play.
