This means that proper language needs to be used, clothing to be worn, food to be eaten, and many other cultural adaptations. English is the world’s language, but in the Jewish community, Hebrew is the spoken and written language.
The times have changed throughout the years. The Jewish religion still exists, but the traditions and values acculturated. Jewish traditions were weakened because many races and people have mixed together in Jewish communities over the centuries. Some parents still try to keep their children from integration into American culture by relying on religious schools. However, we have to be more realistic and understand that it is hard to isolate every Jew from the modern world. Millions will still continue to practice religion the way it was originally written, while others will choose to practice the traditions they learned from the society they live in today. They will speak the language the society speaks, they will wear the clothing that society wears, and they will eat what the society eats, but in their mind and heart they are living the true identity of their Jewish community.
