They don’t necessarily unwrap teir gifts on the spot – they put them aside to beautifully open them later(riping the paper off is considered rude) and sometimes even in front of the gift giver.
Regarding that some countries have strict gift giving rules, other countries such as Australia or even Latvia , don’t follow any rules about gifts. Giving nice and simple gifts such as cups, pens or other things that often have their companie’s name on them is considered normal. Personalizing these gifts can lead to embarrassment and is thought to be pretentious
