George Bernard Shaw was an excellent critic with sharp tongue, high intellect and work-loving heart. Great writer’s talent was reflected in his works, which were excellent in form, bright and individual in manner in style. Shaw consciously opposed himself to a refined and scholastic academical style. Despite the existing traditional manner, wrote with simplicity, attraction, but with the profound knowledge of the subject.

Born in Dublin, he started his literary career in London’s editorials and soon became one of the brightest public speakers in the famous Fabian Society, known with popularization of socialistic ideas. “Caesar and Cleopatra” was written during the author’s hard illness, but indisposition wasn’t reflected on his geniality: “…I have no reason to believe that it would have been a bit better if it had been written on two legs instead of one”, he used to joke.…
