Symptoms of Enron's problems
The symptoms of Enron's problems can be attributed to a variety of unethical corporate practices. These lofty and irregular practices led to the company's failure in many respects, most notably irregular and illegal inflation of company financial reports. Enron certainly crossed the line of corporate code of ethics, corporate social responsibility while it attempted to self-regulate the business of businesses.
Enron contributed millions of dollars into Republican campaigns. As a result of these millions of dollars in charitable contributions a GOP energy bill was adopted with 17 policies specifically for the good of the Enron business and a GOP tax bill that would require Enron a refund in the amount of $254 million.
