A meal is an occasion for taking food or the food that is eaten. Meal time is the usual time for taking a meal. In Latvia people usually eat breakfast, dinner and supper.
Breakfast is the first meal of the day. It may consist of cereals or porridge, bacon, toast or eggs. Some people eat fruit and drink juice at breakfast, but others usually drink tea or coffee.
Dinner is the principal meal of the day. The three courses at dinner are some soup, the main dish and dessert.
Supper is the last meal of the day. It is usually a cold meal. Super may consist of tea and some sandwiches.
I usually eat three times a day. Before going to school it is necessary to eat something, but I usually don’t because I’m not hungry. The first time I eat is about twelve o’clock in the school cafeteria. Sometimes I eat a little after the second lesson, too. When I come home I eat dinner. It usually consists of the main dish and dessert. I don’t like soups very much. At about eight o’clock in the evening I eat supper. On weekdays it is usually a hot meal, because it’s the time when my parents come home. At weekends my super usually consists of tea and some sandwiches.…
