Conclusion
Cold fusion was a major new scientific discovery. That possibility that anomalous excess energy can be produced in a properly conducted cold fusion experiment is now fact. One problem is there are at least 26 theories of cold fusion. Maybe on of them is correct. Maybe not.
So far there has been no new major developments since Pons and Fleischmann other than to prove the effect. And there is no definition of the Nuclear Active State .
Once cold fusion does become a reality and affordable devices are being manufactured, this new energy type will be used by consumers at a rate that will astound the world. If the existing energy companies help this process along or not, it will still happen. The first reaction by some is to say that the oil companies will repress the application of cold fusion, but I don't see this as possible. The cat is out of the bag. The world will have to take any financial, political or public interference that is coming our way.
We can only hope that it will not be too long in the making. At the rate of which our resources are being used, and the continued increase in that usage we must continue the search for the Holy Grail of energy.
