Charles Dickens created much more important works, than can be represented in this short paper. But a proven fact and simple to explain is that he defined the literature of the 19th century in a very impressive manner. His experiences, his discomfort, his relations - it all went into his writing. With sharp sense for human belongings, needs and thoughts he always attracted his readers. With criticism and attacks against the social system and upper class society he somehow had his own literary revolution in a time when actually nothing changed
in Britain. So, it comes quite as a curiosity that Dickens held farewell readings in London , and was also received by the Queen herself in 1870, the year of his death. Charles Dickens died on the 9th of July in cause of a cerebral hemarrhage.
