Due to the renewable resource of wood, plants and the constant waste of organic matter by people, we can find biomass almost everywhere in the country. We can use totally this matter in the generation of energy. "Compared to the world's annual consumption of fossil fuels, Global biomass growth is 7 times greater (this includes everything from the grasses on the High Plains, to the trees in National Parks) ".
With the actual technology(very poor), at the short and long run, biomass does not seem very attractive, yielding a 1.3 ratio of total 30-yr energy output to energy invested and with a Annual rate of ROEI of 0.88/yr . The actual panorama for biomass energy seems very poor, but with the constant increase in technology, this numbers could change, letting a low energy production cost for biomass and this way making it easier to switch to this form of energy.
When we talk about the use of wood and any kind of organic matter, we have to point out the environmental impact that the use of natural resources would let in the environment.
