It is obvious to most that this technology has changed our lives in terms of our ability to exercise some control over with whom we choose to communicate with at any given time. Although this control has positive affects on the way in which we spend our personal free time, the choices we make can serve to escalate our isolation from society at some level. Screening calls with the use of an answering machine (no caller ID) also serves the same basic purpose, without the aid of being able to see the incoming name or number. This has been common practice since answering machines became widely used. It is another method of controlling how you spend your free time and whom you choose to communicate with.
As time passes, society becomes more adapted to new technologies and their usage in our world. Because technology is among the fastest growing and changing facets in our world, it becomes second nature to access the technological changes in a somewhat casual manner. Members of society are almost required to be adept at the advancing technologies as they are offered to us at work and in our personal lives. If we are not keeping current with these advancements, it may cause negative impact our careers.
