A Detective Story

It was dark outside and raining hard. I was alone in the house and had just settled down to watch TV, when I heard a loud noise outside the door. It was police siren just by my door. Suddenly, I felt very frightened. I went outside and saw a police officer, who was drenched to the bone and looked thoroughly furious. My heart was beating swiftly, while we were staring at each other. I didn’t have any idea why the police was onto me.
Million thoughts came across my mind, I had a theory that maybe my eccentric-looking neighbour had done something wrong, but I was sorely mistaken when I heard the policeman’s first question. He wanted to know where I was at 4:00 am last night.…
