Taoism (is also known as Daoism) is one of the two great religious traditions that originated in China. The other philosophy in China is, Confucianism. Taoism and Confucianism begin about the same time, in the sixth century B.C. China's third great religion, Buddhism, which came to China from India.
One rule in Taoism and Buddhism is that they believe in a form of reincarnation. Reincarnation is the idea that life does not end when one dies. The goal in Taoism is the achieve Tao, to fin the way, Tao is the ultimate reality, a presence that existed before the universe was formed and which continues to guide the world and everything in it.
