Jane Eyre: protagonist of the book, she is an orphan, taken in and later given away by her aunt. Jane is an outcast, due to the fact that she has self respect and is not willing to be pushed around as a rag doll. Throughout the story she is struggling to find the balance between love and freedom.

Edward Rochester: Master of the Rochester manor, he is the employer and husband (at the end of the book) of Jane Eyre, he is an intelligent, lively man, whose manner of speech alone is impressively mystic, but has serious issues with trust, because he was forced by his father into marrying a mad woman – Bertha Mason.

St.John: utter opposite to Rochester, he is plain, his intensions – obvious. He offers Jane, to come with him to India, but she refuses.…
